Dos Santos ill

LUANDA: Angola’s opposition has called on the government to reveal the state of President Jose Eduardo dos Santos’s health amid reports that Africa’s second-longest ruler is ill at a hospital in Spain.

The 74-year-old left Angola at the start of May on what was officially a two-week “private visit” but has yet to return.

A report on an Angolarelated Facebook page last week said Dos Santos had died.

His daughter dismissed this as “fake news”. – Reuters
