Aspiring DJ? Come make a splash

-

ASPIRING DJs can try their hand at getting a 30-minute slot to impress crowds and judges at Wahooz on the Promenade.

If they do well enough at Vibez – “the ultimate DJ battle” – they stand to win a working contract at uShaka Marine World to perform at their gigs.

Entrants will be judged on their hosting abilities, mixing performance, music choices, crowd reaction and technical ability, as well as support from fans on social media.

The 30-minute preliminary firstround slots will take place on June 17 and 24, and on July 8 and 15. Each of the finalists will have a video clip of their performance posted on uShaka Marine World’s social media pages.

Finalists will then have the opportunity to garner likes and shares from July 17 until July 28.

“We have always been proud of our commitment to providing opportunities for local talent, having initiated and run Search for the Stars and the Zulu Dance Championships successfully for a number of years now,” said uShaka marketing executive Mpume Mthembu.

Anyone interested in entering has until next Saturday, June 10, to register by inboxing uShaka’s Facebook page.
