Tafta’s 60th anniversary backed by Durban’s best
TOP Durban personalities are throwing their weight behind The Association for the Aged’s (Tafta’s) 60th anniversary celebrations in 2018 with an exclusive premiere red carpet movie event next month.
Several top businessmen and women including Avalon Cinema’s AB Moosa, Chateau Gateaux’s marketing manager Anna Kelly, Mitch Rankin of Platinum Destinations, Vanessa Brisset of Independent Newspapers and radio personality, Varshan Sookhan have joined forces to aid Tafta.
The event on Friday, August 11, at Suncoast CineCentre promises to be an evening of glitz.
It will also début Tafta’s cinema advertisement.
“Tafta is overwhelmed by the selfless support of these amazing personalities,” Tafta divisional manager of income development and marketing Gail Samuels, said.
Durban businessman Akshar Choudree said: “As a proud ambassador for Tafta, an organisation with goals of assisting those of advanced age, directly align and resonate with my personal sentiments of empowerment and upliftment of those in need.”
Kelly said they were thrilled to be involved: “We are often part of many birthday celebrations starting from the first through to the 100th, and we want to make the days in between happier by helping raise funds for Tafta’s 60th celebration.”
Sookhun said he viewed the opportunity to work alongside Tafta as a “great privilege to do something distinctive for those preciously aged individuals in our society”.
Moosa, said he was pleased to be associated with Tafta and praised the positive contribution the organisation had made over the years.
There will be a lucky draw on the day of the screening.
The winner will get a complimentary seven-night stay at Cayley Lodge, near Cathkin Peak in the Berg, for four, valued at R10 000.
