Tafta rolls out the red carpet

-

TO CELEBRATE The Association for the Aged’s (Tafta’s) 60th anniversary next year, the organisation is having a red-carpet event on Friday at Suncoast CineCentre, to launch its latest cinema advertisement.

The non-profit organisation, which has served KwaZuluNatal’s senior citizens for more than 50 years, has helped care for more than 7 500 pensioners.

Tafta provides safe, sheltered housing and care for elderly people in need within the eThekwini region.

“We have indeed come a long way and this would only have been possible through the hard work and dedication from our committed team – from management right through to the volunteers, who selflessly give their time,” said CEO Femada Shamam.

“Tafta would not enjoy the levels of unprecedented success we have achieved in Durban without the support of our long-standing donor and stakeholder communities.”

According to Shamam, the advertisement shares a touching representation of the organisation’s work and its relevance.

In a time of diminishing state support, it is through investments and on-going support from donors, and the broader public, that Tafta retains sustainability.

Tafta calls on readers to get involved; and enjoy snacks and mingling, followed by The Circle, starring Tom Hanks and Emma Watson.

In addition, Platinum Destinations is sponsoring a lucky guest a chance to secure a seven-night relaxing family holiday for four, at Cayley Lodge, worth R10 000. Terms and conditions apply. – Staff Reporter
