1 BIG THING TO GET YOU OFF THE COUCH TODAY

-

GATHER your friends and take a trip to KwaMashu today to experience the ultimate kasi vibes with the Red Bull Kas’Lami featuring Rude Boyz and SoKool at Bix Box Park from 6pm.

The festival, in its second day, celebrates township culture and aims to showcase local performing artists that have emerged from South African townships – paying tribute to their humble beginnings, their power in overcoming struggles along the way and their epic journeys to success.

Visitors can expect to be embraced by the wider cultural landscape of music, fashion and art, which are featured in a variety of pop-up happenings.

This is the fourth year that the festival is travelling to a different South African township since its inception in 2014.

Kas’Lami started in Tembisa, before moving on to uMlazi in 2015 where it featured local-born international DJing superstar, Black Coffee. It then moved to Polokwane where locals had a taste of the Kas’Lami magic in December 2016, when Da Capo and King Monada were headline artists at the Polokwane Shisanyama.

Kas’Lami wraps up the festival tomorrow with a foot-stomping concert at the Artizen Lounge in KwaMashu at 12pm.

The power line-up of entertainers includes producer, remixer DJ and Metro FM award winner – Culoe de Song! Durban’s Gqom kings – Destruction Boyz, with performances by DJ Kabila, EM Ex, DJ SoKool, Bhunu Brill, Snapbvck, Menace, Malusi, Urban Angel and DJ Log.

Tickets for the concert tomorrow are available from Computicket at R100 and R150 for VIP or online swww.computicket.co.za.
