Divisive double exposure

- From: T MARKANDAN

LAST week’s front page of The Independent was both controversial and eye-catching: Jacques Pauw’s daring exposure of Zuma’s capture of the National Treasury, juxtaposed with the bizarre and provocative outfits of two women celebs.

The indecent exposure of the two women would have left your readers divided in their feelings and opinions. Some male readers would have been salivating, their hormone levels shooting up. But your conservative, traditional reader would have been disgusted and outraged by the distasteful, filthy and morally reprehensible outfits worn by the women.

These women think they are liberated, but they are really slaves to a world which views women as sexual objects for the pleasure and exploitation of a male-dominated society. Why follow degenerate America, which uses sex to sell everything? Why outlandish Lady Gaga? She’s such a depraved soul to be a role model for women.

No decent woman would dare step out in public without wearing panties. She’d feel naked. But not Zodwa Wabantu, crowned the drama queen of the year. She created a sensation earlier at the Durban July and did it again at the Feather Awards in her outrageous dress, without panties or bra.

Her rival, Skolopad, tried to outdo her. She was sizzling hot with her boerewors dress and bag of charcoal as her handbag. Hungry men would have wanted a bite!

In a country where rape is such a serious problem, some women are their own enemies, selling their bodies. What some won’t do to be noticed.
