Now there’s an app for teachers’ notes

JUST in case there’s a little note from the teacher on what homework needs to be done, and simply to ease the communications between schools and parents, former Durban resident Dean Govender has created a smartphone application for schools to communicate with parents.

The free app is called e2e, short for “educate to elevate”, said Govender, who now lives in Gauteng.

“I knew there must be a better tool to receive homework messages, or notes between teachers and parents and, working in the digital media space, I worked on creating this application,” he said.

The app has facilities for notes, messages and to download worksheets pupils need for their curriculum.

“Some apps, that are paid for, are targeted at private schools, but e2e is free and state schools can use it. It was only launched towards the end of last year, and a few schools have signed up already. Schools have their own interface which they use to upload notes or files,” he said.

Govender was liaising with the education department to spread awareness of the app, and it’s benefits.

“It simply makes communication easier and efficient. We have a bulk SMS facility that will soon be introduced,” he said.

The app can be downloaded from Google Play (Playstore).
