Flip a Barbarian, Carr a Wasp again

LONDON: Big South African lock Flip van der Merwe has been included in the Barbarians squad that will play England in the Quilter Cup international at Twickenham next weekend.

The Barbarians, who will be coached by New Zealander Pat Lam, named a 17-man squad via their Twitter account yesterday. More names will be added later.

Stormers No 8 Nizaam Carr is set to return to the English Premiership club Wasps after a short spell at the Coventry-based club a few months ago.

Yesterday the telegraph.co.uk website reported that Wasps will make the announcement soon.

The 27-year-old, who has 27 Springbok caps, produced a few stand-out performances while making seven appearances for the club at the end of 2017. Since then there has always been talk of Carr returning to the club. – African News Agency (ANA)
