Seeking ‘my true love’

Bachelor says he’s likely to marry one of show’s 25 women

-

FORMER Sharks player Lee Thompson has been announced as the bachelor for the first season of The Bachelor SA, which airs on M-Net from Valentine’s Day next year.

Described by M-Net’s head of publicity, Lani Lombard, as “sexy and charming”, Thompson, 30, attended Glenstantia Primary School for a year and matriculated at Pretoria Boys’ High. He played rugby at school and for the University of Pretoria, the under-19 Bulls and for the Sharks at under-21 and senior level.

He lives in Cape Town and is an entrepreneur with several successful business ventures on his CV.

Thompson is an international model, ran a gym, and does charity work through his non-profit organisation #LiveHopeLoveSA.

He is excited to be taking part in The Bachelor SA.

“My life-goal is to have an amazing family life and, yes, I do know that this is an unusual way to find true love, but something deep inside me tells me that the universe is going to give me what I need right now – the woman of my dreams.”

Thompson will meet 25 South African women and get to know them before deciding if there is one among them he would like to propose to.

The Bachelor SA is derived from The Bachelor, a US dating and relationship reality television series hosted by Chris Harrison. Twenty-two seasons of the show have been produced in the US, and the format has been licensed to more than 30 countries.

In each episode, the bachelor interacts with a group of women, and presents a rose to each one he would like to remain in the show. Those who do not receive a rose are eliminated. |
