Business fair will help SMMEs to network

IN THE build-up to the Durban Business Fair 2017, which is to be held later this year, the Regional Business Fair kicks off this weekend at KwaMnyandu in uMlazi.

The regional fair, which will take place from Friday, to Sunday at the KwaMnyandu Shopping Centre in uMlazi, forms part of the lead-up to the main Durban Business Fair later in the year.

The fair provides entreprene­urs and small business owners with an invaluable platform to showcase and market their products and services, network and create business linkages.

The fair also provides business owners with crucial learning, developmen­tal and mentorship opportunit­ies through the Business Indaba and Business Master Classes.

This weekend’s threeday Regional Business Fair – KwaMnyandu will also include:

● An exhibition of small businesses – all three days.

● Business Indaba – Friday and Saturday.

● Business Master Classes – from Friday to Sunday.

● Youth Entreprene­urship seminar (Start Up and Go) – Friday and Saturday.

● The event will also feature a Kiddies Area, Flavours of Durban and a Fashion Pavilion with fashion shows and pop-up shops.

Hosted by eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede, the Business Indaba promises to be “powerful and impactful” – unpacking Radical Economic Transforma­tion with a particular focus on “Youth Participat­ion in Infrastruc­ture Developmen­t”.

Keynote speakers will include Public Works Minister Nathi Nhleko, Communicat­ions Minister Ayanda Dlodlo and Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba.

It is compulsory for fair exhibitors and open to all small, micro and medium enterprise owners, entreprene­urs as well as aspiring entreprene­urs.

The Business Indaba aims to equip these business owners with the informatio­n, contacts and strategies they need to successful­ly grow their operations and compete successful­ly in the mainstream economy. – Mercury Reporter
