Why no arrests of those implicated?

-

I WAS perplexed when I read that the major whistle-blowers of Bosasa in the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture, namely Angelo Agrizzi, Andries van Tonder and Frans Voster, who apparently willingly testified and are key witnesses, have been arrested by the Hawks.

As far as I’m concerned this is a stupid move because their co-operation is very important for any of the cases to proceed.

Also, how it will affect others who want to come forward and open up and testify not only in the Bosasa case but for any other shenanigans and theft that has been happening within all government departments for years?

My answer is that it will hinder the prospects of uncovering more corruption, not only within Bosasa, and the inquiry will grind to a halt.

But the main question remains: why have all the whistle-blowers been arrested and none of the people exposed during the enquiry who were involved with criminal activities? Why have they not been touched?

I may sound stupid but why are the Watson brothers still free or, at the very least, Gavin Watson or some ANC bigwigs?

This was a wrong move and the new broom at the top of the NPA has already started scaring all other whistle-blowers from coming forward and incriminating themselves. JEAN MICHEL BOUVIER Bryanston
