Sunette paid

-

SASCOC was quick to keep its promise this time, South African javelin thrower Sunette Viljoen confirmed yesterday. “I would like to confirm that I have received the first part of my payment from Sascoc. I thank them for the quick response this time,” she said on her official Twitter account. Viljoen received the first part of her Olympic payment promised by the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc). She pocketed R200 000 for claiming the silver medal at the recently completed Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Earlier in the week, Viljoen had criticised Sascoc, claiming she had not been paid since February this year. Sports minister Fikile Mbalula earlier this week said all medallists would receive additional bonuses. – Sports Reporter
