Students revolt in order to be heard

-

HOW many times must a student be told by some bigoted senior citizen that the payment of income tax entitles the senior citizen to endorse police brutality? (M Mitchell, The Mercury, October 19 – “Students deserve what police dish out”.)

An inane statement used frequently in the ’60s and still today.

And how many riots do the youth have to go through in order to be heard?

And how much does that taxpayer spend on batons, tear gas and arms? And how many times must the fascist overpower in order to retain his point of view?

Perhaps the answer has been around since the ’60s Paris student revolts and those that followed.

Perhaps the senior citizen was not a student?

Finally, my apologies for any plagiarism of the latest Nobel literature laureate, but perhaps he will understand and forgive me.
