-

MOGADISHU: Three Horn of Africa countries have reaffirmed their commitment to bolstering diplomatic relations for security and stability in the region.

Foreign ministers from Ethiopia, Somalia and Eritrea who held talks in Mogadishu noted that the stability of the region hinged on the commitment of its leaders.

“In the course of engagements, the leaders discussed progress on the trilateral agreement of joint co-operation in the economic, political and security fields and reaffirmed their continued commitment to contributing jointly to peace, stability and progress in the Horn of Africa,” the ministers said.

Thawing of relations among the three countries has seen restoration of diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and Eritrea this year, with the two countries reopening embassies in each other’s capitals. Ethiopia will also resume flights to Mogadishu for the first time in 40 years. – Xinhua
