Glitz and glamour marked the official State of the Nation Address yesterday where dignitaries turned up in flowing gowns and vivid colours. Some opted for traditional attire, others for more fashionable contemporary designs

NATIONAL Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete joined Dr Iqbal Survé, chairman of Sekunjalo Investments Holdings, at the annual Sekunjalo Gathering at the Mount Nelson Hotel before the State of the Nation Address yesterday. More than 300 dignitaries, including diplomats, ambassadors and business leaders, attended. Mbete thanked Dr Survé for hosting the event over the years and said she supported his values, and believed that South Africa had a bright future.
