We worked for whatever we have

-

I AM responding to Dawie Roodt, a so-called economist, who stated that Indians are better off today because of apartheid.

Let me enlighten him. Indians, coloureds and blacks were all suppressed. What makes you think that the Indians had it easy?

Whatever the Indians have, they worked for, although they were just as suppressed.

In the apartheid era, we Indians were too black to be accepted as equals and now we are too white to enjoy the milk and honey. We do not rely on handouts. That is why we still fend for ourselves.
