CATH­CART - Con­grat­u­la­tions to Stu­art and Lindi Dew­ing on the birth of their first born, a son, Carter, also a grand­son for Sally Brandt; to Alec and Rox­anne Scheep­ers from the Wagon Wheel on the birth of their daugh­ter Danika, a first grand­child for Jo­han and Margie Scheep­ers; to Greg and Ni­cole Shone on the birth of their son, Matthew, first grand­child for Al­lan and Jenny Shone and great grand­child for Ron and Cyn­thia Trol­lip and to Clair­win Stry­dom and Ger­rit Marais a daugh­ter Alexis Bella, an­other grand­child for Piet and Karen Stry­dom.

JACO , Nadine and Emmi Ros­souw re­turned this week from Cape Town where can­cer suf­ferer Emmi had a check up at Red Cross Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal. The good news is that the tu­mours on the skull and chest have not grown but Emmi will need to con­tinue with chemo treat­ment for a fur­ther six months and re­turn to Cape Town in April.

THE Thomas River bike ride takes place to­mor­row at Thomas River with the usual races in­clud­ing a scooter dash and trail run. Round Ta­ble have or­gan­ised a mo­tor bike ride as well to start at noon. En­tries to John Pot­ter for the bike race and Jo­han Ros­souw for the mo­tor­bike ride.

The Round Ta­ble fun bowls day was played in hot con­di­tions last Sun­day and was won by the Cur­rie Bun­nies team of David and Robin Cur­rie and Glenn and Linda Cotterrell. Sec­ond was a Round Ta­ble team.

On Sun­day the Bor­der ju­nior golf foundation play­ers will hold a golf day lo­cally. En­tries to Bernard Cotterrell.
