EFF supports students

MZUVUKILE Sonkosi of Queenstown writes: The EFF supports the move of students in the recent #FeesmustFall campaign.

We appreciate the solidarity of all university students. There is no time for lies and they want free education as the Freedom Charter indicated.

The Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimanda must resign. NS- FAS is not practical to support. There is free education in Libya and Cuba – why not in South Africa? Now is the time for South Africans to fight the tendencies of those in power and remove the elitist government.

The money used to defend the Nkandla saga – and the R246-million spent to build it - is supposed to be invested in the children of this country. YOUTH Movement Organisation chairman Eric Shikobela writes: Our country is approaching the local government elections.

The problems and challenges we face daily start in our communities. Empowered communities mean an empowered country. People should not underestimate the municipal elections, for these elections can develop or destroy communities.

BELATED birthday wishes go to Elona Luzuko Buhe who turned two on October 27, Abbi Hayes lenges but a common problem in every community is unemployment. Unemployment is high in South Africa and it mostly affects the youth, which is supposed to be the future.

I take youth community issues seriously and I understand what our youth are faced with daily.

As the municipal elections approach, we will witness different political parties visiting communities as if they care about the diffi- and Tatum Knoetze (October 31), Michael Adolph (November 1), Peta-Jane Osborne (November 2), Christine Mclean, Gerald Dell, Colin McKay and Michelle Hattingh (November 3), Avuyile Kohlani (November 4), Elize Newman (yesterday).

BEST wishes for better health to Queen’s senior deputy headmaster Mike Boy, who had an altercation with one of the game culties facing them but we know all they care about is securing votes. I urge political parties to try to represent the best interests of people during the elections. Mere promises will now be made, officials will be sitting in community meetings pretending to be listening to the complaints and needs of the community but once the elections are over, nothing more will transpire.

I urge political parties to identify people who are al- reserve gates and suffered four broken ribs, a broken elbow, a badly bruised shoulder and other cuts and scratches. An operation was scheduled for Monday. David Miles underwent tests and an operation in an East London hospital this week and Eion Taggart suffered a nasty setback on Sunday evening and was admitted to hospital in Queenstown. Best wishes for a swift recovery also go to Esme Barraud and Lukhanji mayor Nozi Makanda.

ANNIVESARY wishes go to Patrick and Lizél Casey tomorrow. ready engaged with their communities for such a position. Someone who cares about his/her community will make a huge difference. We need determined and innovative community leaders. Such leaders will bring initiatives that will combat unemployment and empower the youth. When the youth is empowered the community will progress and a progressive community will give birth to a prosperous country.
