Party with the Hawks

- By Sonja Raasch

IF YOU’RE up for a party, so is the Queenstown Hawks motorcycle club!

On November 14, the Ashley Wyngaard Hall is set to rock from 8pm to late as the Hawks present the Decades Summer Bash.

Various prizes are on offer, including for the best dressed couple, by the non-profit organisation.

Profits made from events like steak braais and discos, hosted by the Hawks annual- ly, are ploughed back into the communities of Newvale, Aloevale, Sabatha Dalindyebo and New Rest.

Community events include a soup kitchen twice a month in the areas and Easter egg gifts to children during April. In August, the Hawks distribute food parcels valued at R250 per family with 50 households drawing benefit this year. They also distributed toiletry gift boxes to women from the area this year.

The Decades Summer Bash is the Hawks’ last event for the year with the guest DJ Mr Shakes from Port Elizabeth.

The funds will go towards Christmas gifts for 500 children – a doll for young girls and a ball or toy car for boys.

The Hawks are also desperately looking for a venue from where they can host their events and functions on a regular basis and would welcome any donations in their efforts to uplift their communities.

Contact Cavall Genade on 082-495-5000 or Yolanda Stellenberg on 071-919-1462 for further information.
