Man dies in freak car accident

AN elderly man died after he was allegedly run over by his own vehicle in the Blue Rise residential area last Friday morning.

The man, a Greek national, was Peter Tyrannes, 71, who is survived by his wife, two children and three grandchildren.

A police source on Friday indicated that Tyrannes, who was resident in the area, had allegedly pushed his car on a decline to get it started. When it started moving he was apparently unable to stop it and was dragged underneath. – The Rep reporter
