Table-toppers Police, were ruthless from the word go, racing to a 14-0 lead at half time thanks to two tries by Lolo Ntlama and Skipper Bonga Mntunjani, both converted by Skangele Mateza.

The home side started the second half on a brighter note, with Sivuyile Mdletye converting a penalty to bring the score to 14-3. Mateza had other ideas as he scored a crucial try for Police as the visitors stretched their lead to 19-3.

Breakers fought back with a try via Thulani Renqu before Police skipper Mntunjani crashed over for a bonus-point try.

Old Boys beat Buffs 22-14 and All Blacks edged Fort Hare Blues 22-18.
