Busy week of robbery and theft
AT MIDDAY last Tuesday, security officers at a supermarket apprehended a suspect for theft. He was handed over to the police and the stolen goods were returned, operations manager Willie Reynecke told The Rep.
On Thursday morning, response officers attended to a panic alarm at a store where the owner was robbed of cash and goods by three suspects. They were able to apprehend one and recovered some of the cash which was returned and the suspect handed over to the police.
That afternoon security officers at another store apprehended a suspect who had attempted to purchase goods with a false note and also tried to rob a woman in front of the store.
On Friday, security officers at the same supermarket as Tuesday’s incident apprehended another suspect for theft. He, too, was handed to the police.
That afternoon officers responded to a call for help from the police after a woman was robbed of a large amount of cash by five suspects in Calderwood Street.
They apprehended all five and recovered most of the cash which was returned and the suspects handed over.
On Sunday evening, response officers attended to a panic alarm at a shop where they apprehended a suspect who was identified as the person who had robbed a woman the previous day at another store belonging to the same owner. – Rep reporter
