Forged notes still doing the rounds

-

EARLY last Tuesday Red Guard response officers were summoned by a panic alarm to a flat in Livingstone Road where they were informed that the neighbour had been robbed by two suspects, operations manager Willie Reinecke told The Rep. Both were apprehended and handed over to the police.

On Wednesday afternoon they went to a shop where two suspects had attempted to rob the owner and were throwing stones at the premises.

They were also apprehended and handed over.

Fake money is still doing the rounds and on Thursday a tavern owner reported that a man had tried to purchase alcohol with forged notes and had more in his possession.

The suspect and his money were handed over to the police.

That night response officers attended to a panic at a tavern where they apprehended two patrons who were under the influence of alcohol and fighting.

On Friday night the security officer at a business in Cathcart Road called for assistance and response officers were dispatched to the premises where they apprehended two suspects who had jumped over the wall.

The manager declined to open a case because the suspects had not stolen anything and neither was there forced entry.

On Saturday evening a response officer was stopped in Ebden Street by a private security guard who informed him that he had seen a suspicious-looking person entering a business premises. The officer investigated and recovered several vehicle batteries which had been stolen from a business in Ebden Street. They were returned on Monday.– Rep reporter
