Twizza helping to change lives

Local investment a top priority for business

-

TWIZZA is not only a prime provider of cold drinks, energy drinks and water – it has, since its establishment in Komani in 2003, touched thousands of lives through sponsorships and social outreaches.

Twizza’s firm belief is that “local is lekker” and thus the business invests in events which will help to improve the lives of locals.

The latest event benefiting from Twizza’s involvement was the Tesa Football Academy’s under-10 and U13 soccer tournament in Amatolaville in Stutterheim on Saturday.

A number of local teams participated with Lucky Stars Football Club travelling from Cofimvaba and Atlantic Spurs from East London, convener Cordelia Girdler-Brown said.

Tesa Football Academy walked away with both the cups for the U10 and U13 groups.

The final for the U13 group was played between Tesa Football Academy and Lucky Stars FC, with the final score 4 -0.

The final for the U10 group was played between Tesa Football Academy and Young Entertainers from Kubusi with a 2-2 score. The teams went into a penalty shoot out which Tesa won 4-0.

Twizza’s assistance with the event was greatly appreciated, Twizza was on board with all branding and handed out cool drinks and water to the crowds.

“Tesa would like to thank Twizza for a very successful event.”

Twizza has also been a long-time supporter of the Twizza Bonkolo Marathon, a landmark event on the Border running calendar which annually draws more than 700 competitors.

Theo Ferreira of the Harriers said Twizza had been the sponsor of the marathon and half marathon for the past 10 years.

“We are most grateful to Twizza for their ongoing support without which we would not be able to organise a premium event of this quality,” he said.

Twizza’s involvement and support of local events is, however, far more extensive.

Other bodies and/or events supported by Twizza, include: Old Collegians Sports Club – the annual JJ Motors OC 10s Rugby Festival, Dordrecht Nerinahof Old Age Home (donation of water), Tarka Agricultural Show, Madeira Old Age Home – fundraising (golf day), Stutterheim High School – mountain bike enduro cycle race, Girls’ High School Interact Club – fundraising for rape victims, Harriers Running Club – Madeira Mountain Run, Cancer Run, Bonkolo Marathon, the East London Agricultural Show , Chris Hani Sports and Recreation Easter weekend fun run, Komani Hospital sports and recreation soccer and netball tournament, Lady Frere libraries event, East London Senior Citizens Association fundraising, Lilyfontein Adventure Run, the SAPS Widows and Orphans golf day, the Bolo Bike Ride, the Aliwal Softball Academy, The Twizza Longhill Challenge, the Eastern Wheelers Youth Cycling Club, The Elliot Madeira Charity Race, the SAPS Medal Parade, Rotary Family Health Days in Mlungisi, Ilinge and Ezibeleni and the Queenstown Rotary Club fundraising for different charities in the Komani area.
