Quality healthcare at Magers Pharmacy

-

September is Pharmacy Month and a unique opportunity to market the pharmacy profession across the country, bringing together pharmacists from all sectors to communicate the value that the profession brings in the provision of quality healthcare to communities in South Africa.

This year’s theme, “Use Medicines Wisely”, is aimed at educating the public regarding the importance of using medicine correctly to achieve quality healthcare results.

There are four sub-themes to complement the main theme: your medicine; your medicines correctly; safely with your medicines; to your pharmacist.

The strategic focus of this year’s theme is to educate the public regarding the importance of using medicine wisely, as part of the rational use of medicines.

Pharmacists are one of the nation’s most trusted professionals and the most accessible healthcare professionals. Pharmacists not only ensure that your medicine is affordable, but safe and effective too.

At Magers Pharmacy, where I, Simbongile Pambuka, am the practice manager and responsible pharmacist, we have a clinic where we offer clinic and wellness services which include blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol testing, blood glucose (diabetes testing), immunisations, baby vaccination, hearing testing and hearing aid fitting, family planning consultations, ear checks, as well as syringing and wound care.
