TARKASTAD – The annual rose show took place on Saturday at the Tarka Sports Club. Ashley Wormald, from Komani, was the judge and gave an interestin­g talk on roses. A competitio­n was held between the 12 tables decorated for the guests, of which Alison Budler was the winner. Denise Raw won the champion rose, Mimsie van Heerden had the most points and Cornette van Heerden the most entries. A total of 316 rose entries were received.

RECENTLY , a group of women from the Tarkastad Women’s Agricultur­al Associatio­n visited Ronell Herselman on her farm for an afternoon of health discussion­s and fun.

NEWLY qualified Mind Moves instructor Trish King introduced the wonder of Mind Moves. Mind Moves is a proven system for finding the cause of learning problems and eliminatin­g them by means of specific, simple-to-use exercises, while strengthen­ing pupils’ learning abilities. This system was developed by Dr Melodie de Jager. Trish has her own practice in Tarkastad and will specifical­ly target scholastic problems at this stage.

SISTER Susanne Bekker, of the Tarkastad clinic, spoke about the changes in the clinic and the availabili­ty of medication. Everyone’s blood pressure was taken and a clip on the warning signs of strokes was watched.

– Leon Venter is in Abu Dhabi coaching tentpeggin­g. The Abu Dhabi World Cup 2018 is currently taking place.

Every effort is being made to promote tentpeggin­g internatio­nally and for the sport to become part of the Olympics.
