Japan trip in the offing for Kiasha
A Komani woman, Kiasha Naidoo, has been shortlisted to attend a social development bootcamp in Japan next month – a very prestigious achievement as this is a worldwide event to which only the cream-of-the-crop is invited.
Kiasha, is a social entrepreneur and deputy director of training and evaluation at Khululeka in our town who has a passion for empowering people and is determined to bring quality to early childhood education programmes and services.
She has spent many years working in early childhood development and is determined to provide access to disadvantaged children in rural communities. She was invited and agreed to apply and did herself and Khululeka proud by going through to the final round of the application process, but now she has to raise the funds for her flights, accommodation in Tokyo and so on. This is seen as preparation for the challenges the candidates will experience.
The total cost required is R155,000, but with the support of her family, friends and the community, Kiasha is convinced her dream will come true.
Those who wish to support her by contributing R100 or more should do so before March 18 by contacting her on
kiashanaidoo@yahoo.com or 079-523 6646 for banking details.
A spokesperson for Khululeka said, “We believe Kiasha is the perfect candidate to take on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and she has our full backing and support.”
