-

Last Monday, Red Guard response officers attended to a panic at a cash and carry, operations manager Willie Reinecke told The Rep.

They apprehended two suspects who had stolen stock from the business.

The stolen items were recovered and returned and the suspects handed over to the police.

In the early hours of Wednesday, a response officer on patrol noticed that the window of a truck parked at a garage was open. The manager of the business was informed, but it was found that nothing had been taken.

On Thursday at mid-morning, response officers attended to a panic at a hair salon where they had to remove a person for his own safety as he was being assaulted by several taxi drivers.

Late that night, the company’s 24-hour control room was called by a resident in Longview Street who requested assistance. Response officers apprehended a suspect who had continuously pressed the intercom. He was handed over to the police.

Very early on Saturday morning, the security officer at an auctioneering concern reported that glass had been removed from two windows and some stock was visible under the window. Response officers were dispatched and they chased two suspects, but could not apprehend them. It appeared that nothing had been stolen.

On Sunday afternoon, response officers attended to a panic alarm where the property owner reported that a suspect had attempted to break in and gave a description to the response officers. They searched for the suspect, apprehended him and handed him over to the police.
