7 Stars seize the moment to return with a great score

The SAB Football League season resumed and was action-packed in spite of the rainy weather over the weekend, with 7 Stars whipping Komani Stars by 5-1 on Saturday, at the Dumpy Adams stadium.

Javian Rooi, 7 Stars right wing, put in a great performanc­e.

In the first half, both teams had their moments of dominance, but it was 7 Stars who seized the moment when Rooi scored the opening goal, leading to a 1-0 scoreline at the end of the first half.

More goals followed in the second half as Komani Stars struggled to retain ball possession when they were put under pressure by 7 Stars.

Rooi returned with his second goal after five minutes of the second half, and followed with his third six minutes later.

Not long after, Komani Stars striker Bayelise Gijana finally managed to find the net.

Centre mid-fielder Envor Geduld scored the last goal sealing the match and 7 Stars were the champs of the day.

7 Stars coach, Willie Kepkey, said: The boys showed some

“character in their performanc­e today. It was our first game in the new year. We kept the game simple and scored goals.

We are taking every game “one step at a time.

We have had three wins, a “draw and a loss from the five games we have played.”

The team won by 4-1 against Holy Kings in their second game on Tuesday. Rooi scored two goals and striker Avene Mhlalisi also netted two. Ezibeleni's Roman Callies match against ’ Komani Conquerors, which was due to be played on Saturday, was rolled over after Komani Conquerors failed to produce registrati­on cards for its players.

Other results were as follows, Valgas won 6-2 against Swallows, Molteno Cosmos beat Holy Kings by 4-2 and MK Academy and Two for Joy drew 1-1.
