FACE 2 FACE with Njongo Mvabenyathi, a real estate agent at Harcourts, in Komani
QAWhat do you do?
I am a real estate agent working for Harcourts Queenstown and loving it!
What do you enjoy about it?
I truly enjoy meeting new people and hearing their experiences of life and their journeys. It is really interesting and one learns a lot.
In your opinion, how is the property industry doing during the Covid-19 crisis?
The real estate industry is doing fairly well for now, at least in Komani. We cannot really predict the future and we are struggling to get new listings. It is more of a buyers market currently, and it is a bit of a nightmare, to be honest.

What would you advise someone wanting to get into the housing market right now?
For now I would say buy and buy. The interest rate is looking good and when it comes to property you can never go wrong.
How do you think we are doing during this international crisis?
I do not think the world is taking this very seriously, but then I am no expert. And we South Africans seem to be taking it lightly, but I could be wrong.
A motto to live by?
Life is what it is, it is up to you how you want to handle it or face it. But I say grab it and fight.
What are you up to in your spare time?
My spare time ... My life is a bit of a crazy roller-coaster and it all depends on what is happening at that time, but I mostly spend my free time on introspection, watching series or just driving around town and looking for new property. If not, I am out of town spending time with those close to my heart.
One thing you would like to do before you die?
One thing I would love to do before I die ... well there is a lot. But the top four have to be doing my part to fight against corruption, getting rid of racism, loving and spreading as much peace as possible. And getting this town clean!
What do you love about Komani?
I love Komani because of the people. We are an amazing bunch. We understand each other, whether you stay in the township, in town or on a farm. It is nice. You know every person who moves in. Maybe this comes from my job perspective, but I love it here.
