Join Proteas ’ Msomi spread the sunshine

-

We all need a little sunshine in our lives and SPAR Proteas netball captain Bongi Msomi has the answer sign up for the

SPAR Women s Virtual

Challenge on September 26.

With the entire SPAR Women s Challenge series for

2020 having been cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic, SPAR has organised a virtual challenge.

Women around SA are being invited to spread a little sunshine by entering the virtual challenge.

SPAR has done so much for “women s sport and they ve been

’ ’ contributing some great initiatives to sport over the years,” said Msomi.

Certainly, my sport, netball, “would not have prospered the way it has without SPAR s

’ support.

I have taken part in the

SPAR challenge series and a number of their other events

– mainly because I love the vibe of the SPAR Challenge and the family culture they have.

It s always fun to be part of “’ their events.

So I am challenging my

“fellow netball Proteas and

– other sportswomen to spread a

– little sunshine by entering this virtual challenge.

We might not be able to be “together with our teammates and friends but we can still use a day like this one to have fun and even have our own group targets that we can share on social media on the day,” she said.

On September 26, people who have entered can run, jog, walk, skip or even dance their own challenge at their own pace, choosing their own route and completing their challenge at any time between 6am and 6pm.

They can then share their experience on social media, using the hashtags #BeSunshine or #SPARVirtualChallenge.

The organisers are hoping to set a world record for the number of entrants in a women s virtual challenge.

For an entry fee of only R50, each entrant will receive a challenge t-shirt, a buff and challenge magazine.

But that s not all for every

’ – entry, SPAR will donate a food parcel to a survivor of genderbased violence (GBV). Entering the SPAR Women s

’ Virtual Challenge is easy just

– enter online at www. sparvirtualchallenge.co.za .

Participants can collect their challenge packs at their chosen SPAR store from two weeks before the virtual challenge or they can be delivered by courier at a nominal extra fee.
