Suspects handed over to police

Last Monday morning Red Guard response officers attended to a panic alarm activation at a business in town, operations manager Willie Reinecke told The Rep. They apprehende­d a suspect who had stolen some items and he was handed over to the police.

During the afternoon of the same day the owner of the business called the company s 24-hour control room for assistance after a suspect had broken the front window of the business.

The suspect was also apprehende­d and handed over to the police.

On Wednesday morning response officers attended to a panic alarm at a butchery in town where they chased a suspect who had stolen sugar from a vehicle parked in front of the business. They recovered the sugar, but could not apprehend the suspect. The sugar was handed back to the owner.

During Wednesday night response officers attended to an alarm at a dairy in town.

They apprehende­d a suspect inside the premises where renovation­s were being done, which enabled the suspect to enter the premises. The suspect was handed over to the police.

In the early hours of Thursday morning response officers again attended to an alarm at the dairy in town where they apprehende­d suspects inside the premises.

The suspects were released after the client declined to open a criminal case with the police.

On Friday afternoon response officers attended to a panic alarm at a business in Cathcart Road where they had to remove a person who was threatenin­g the manager with a knife after attempting to purchase food without money.
