A QWhat do you do?

At the moment I m ’ unemployed, but I am working on making my dream come true by searching for sponsors. I am a dancer.

What do you enjoy about it?

I enjoy dancing as it helps me express my feelings. I always say dancing is the way I speak.

When did you start dancing and how did you know it was what you wanted to pursue?

I have been dancing since I was a little girl.

All these years I knew what I wanted to be but never saw it as a career.

Ever since I moved to Komani I saw that the talent here is unnoticed.

There are already young people who admire my dancing.

I want to pursue this as a career and help my community by providing them with the same opportunity that was provided for me.

How did it feel winning the Internal Arts Showcase and being selected to go to the International Modelling Talent Agency (IMTA) convention next year?

Being chosen meant the world to me and it felt like a dream come true.

I am glad my audition was successful last year in Johannesburg.

We understand the trip to New York was delayed because of the lockdown. How did that affect your plans?

A lot of businesses have not been able to assist me raise the funds I need to get to IMTA.

It really breaks my heart every time I get a negative answer, but I am pushing and I am still looking for sponsors.

They say every little counts, but there is so little time to arrange such a huge amount of money that I am worried.

What would you like to say to people who would like to partner with you to make the trip happen?

I would like to ask any businesses and people to please partner with me.

A lot of companies do not really recognise people working in entertainment and are hesitant to sponsor.

If a company would partner with me I promise I will not disappoint them and I will use this as a stepping stone in not only making my dreams come true, but to uplift my community as well.

What keeps you motivated in pursuing your dreams?

Just looking at my community and wanting to make a difference where I live. Contributing and somehow giving back would mean so much to me. That keeps me motivated.

Apart from New York, which other place would you love to visit and why?

Las Vegas. I really want to visit Caesar s Palace because there

’ are many dance events that happen there.

Apart from dancing what else do you enjoy doing?

I love singing, I am an artist. I write my own music, but there is still so much to learn as I ve

’ never had the opportunity to really develop and grow in it.

What do you love about Komani?

Komani has so much talent.

Another thing, people here always support each other and look out for one another.
