Komani marathon runners boost city’s reputation

Komani Runners Club continued to boost the city’s reputation through their participat­ion in major running events throughout the country.

Over the weekend, Komani Runners Club participat­ed in two races.

The local runners participat­ed in the Masters half marathon (21km) and full marathon (42km).

Other club members travelled to participat­e in the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.

Club secretary general Linda Ndongeni said: “Both marathons (Masters & Sanlam Cape Town) were opportunit­ies to shine. For years both marathons have been regarded as fast routes.

“As Komani Runners Club athletes, we prepared ourselves accordingl­y to secure our personal best times and improve our seeding for the 2024 Two Oceans Ultra Marathon and 2024 Comrades Marathon.

“Thanks to my teammates and particular­ly to the club’s technical desk, Dr Nikelo Mabandla and Lubabalo Zwelibanzi. These guys are so amazing,” he said.

The results of the weekend for Komani Runners Club with names and times taken to complete the race were as follows:
