Good news from Eskom

DESPITE an increase in demand for electricity, Eskom says there are no scheduled power blackouts planned for the coming days. “The cold and wet weather has resulted in increased demand for electricity, but the power grid is stable,” spokesman Andrew Etzinger said yesterday. “No load shedding has been planned at the moment.” Earlier this month, a coal storage silo at the Majuba power station in Mpumalanga collapsed, resulting in millions of households in three cities being plunged into darkness amid rolling blackouts.
