Wreath laid at mall collapse site

-

THE INQUIRY into the collapse of the Tongaat mall, which claimed two lives, took a break yesterday to lay a wreath on the site of the collapse, the KwaZulu-Natal Labour Department said. “The commission laid a wreath on the site of the structural collapse of the mall where Zakithi Nxumalo and Zwelibanzi Masuku lost their lives,” Nhlanhla Khumalo said. The commission’s presiding officer, Phumudzo Maphaha, said the commission’s work had not been in vain. “We have learnt a lot and want to prevent a repeat of this tragedy in future… I am satisfied with the progress to date. We will be coming to a conclusion soon,” Maphaha said. – Sapa
