GWM cuts spec and price on H6

- MOTORING STAFF

GREAT Wall Motors has launched a cheaper, entrylevel version of its H6 SUV in South Africa.

The new H6 City, priced at R259 900, falls in below existing H6 1.5T Lux (R279 900) and H6 2.0TCI Lux (R349 900) models, in terms of both price and specification. The City gets the same remote central locking, power windows, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD brakes, and rear parking sensors as the higher spec models, but costs are kept down with the deletion of items like cruise control, touch screen infotainment displays, keyless ignition, rear view cameras and height adjustable driver’s seats among other things.

Power comes from the same 105kW/210Nm 1.5litre turbopetrol as was introduced in the H6 late last year. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission in both derivatives, and GWM quotes an average fuel consumption of 8.5 litres/100km.

All H6 models come with standard five-year/100 000km warranties.
