Isipani added to the collusion list
ISIPANI Construction has been added to the list of construction companies that will be prosecuted by the Competition Tribunal for alleged collusive tendering for the construction of the 2010 World Cup stadiums. The Competition Commission said yesterday it had decided to also refer a case against Isipani Construction to the tribunal following an investigation of the firms that did not participate in the construction fast-track settlement process but were implicated in cases during the phase-two investigations. It said the Isipani referral joined the others against firms implicated for the same conduct in the construction sector. The firms in the initial referral are WBHO Construction, Group Five Construction, Murray & Roberts (M&R), Stefanutti Stocks and Basil Read. M&R was granted conditional leniency while Aveng settled all the cases against the company. – Roy Cokayne
