Western nations act like hypocrites at G20

-

THE MAJOR western nations have once again displayed their extreme hypocrisy and double standards for all to see at the G20 gathering in Brisbane.

Such meetings should serve to further the noble ideals of a more cordial world order, but the western bullies instead chose to insult Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, leading to his early departure from the conference. Word has it that it was only the intervention of the Brics partners, including South Africa, that prevented the expulsion of the Russian delegation.

I don’t presume to pass judgement on the Russian imbroglio with Ukraine. The partisan western media such as CNN has muddied those waters with smoke and mirrors journalism to such an extent that a fair and balanced assessment is impossible. However, how dare the west- ern leaders so viciously and with such malice castigate Putin when they are always so mute during the multiple American military oil grab invasions across the Middle East which were in blatant contravention of international law. Where was the collective admonishing western voice when Israel was reducing civilian habitats and places of worship to rubble? Or when the democratically elected government in Egypt was being deposed in a military coup? There has been no ostricising of that illegal military regime by the western hypocrites.

The US and its western allies have made the word “hypocrisy” synonymous with their devious mantra. I am proud that South Africa is not part of the spiteful western nefarious agenda.
