Yengeni case postponed

ANC NATIONAL executive committee member Tony Yengeni is still awaiting feedback on whether his drunk driving charges will be withdrawn, the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court heard yesterday. Yengeni’s written representations were submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions in September. Yesterday, the court heard that the outcome was still pending. Yengeni’s lawyer, Sylvester Vogel, said the National Prosecuting Authority had acknowledged receipt of the representations. The case was postponed to January and Yengeni’s bail of R500 was extended. – Sapa
