WHEAT futures for delivery in March gained 0.2 percent to R3 779 a ton, by the midday close on SA Futures Exchange yesterday, the highest since June 20.

Prices rose for the fifth day, the longest run of gains since March 13.

The Crop Estimates Com- mittee raised its forecast for production of the cereal for the 2014/15 season by 0.2 percent to 1.79 million tons.

White maize for delivery this month fell 0.2 percent to R1 986 a ton.

Yellow maize for March delivery lost 0.5 percent to R2 069 a ton. – Bloomberg
