Integrating local subcontractors

THE Motheo Construction Group has assisted the Johannesburg Social Housing Company (JOSHCO) in the creation of 1 243 rental opportunities through their projects at Roodepoort Inner City, Antea, City Deep and Orlando eKhaya, according to Dr. Thandi Ndlovu, executive chairman .

Ndlovu, who established Motheo Construction Group in 1998, says during its sixteen year history Motheo has developed into one of the largest BEE construction companies in South Africa. The group’s activities range from housing development and construction, general contracting (building and civils), property development, material supply and project management.

“We have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with JOSHCO that has existed over the last ten years. It is our sincere belief that we have afforded them a quality product at a competitive cost,” says Ndlovu.

“One of our key performance areas, has been our ability to integrate local subcontracting businesses into the delivery process, to ensure that the wider community, in which these projects are built, benefit economically during the implementation of the project,” she adds.
