Election fund appeal

GABORONE: Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) chairman and Botswana President Lieutenant-General Seretse Khama Ian Khama has called on members states to provide the regional Electoral Commissions Forum (ECF) with adequate funds to run credible elections in order to safeguard political stability.

Addressing delegates during the official opening of the 18th Annual General Conference of Electoral Commissions Forum of SADC countries in Gaborone on Wednesday, Khama said the forum should be funded to ensure that the region ran credible elections that built nations as opposed to breaking them apart. – ANA
