Benefits of Zuma being recalled

- John Perry

I CAN’T find words to express my disappointment in the ANC in failing to recall Jacob Zuma.

Gwede Mantashe has publicly referred to the negative influence on the party of Zuma’s behaviour and the effect this had on its dismal performance at the polls.

If this is not damning enough, any person with half a brain knows if Zuma were recalled tomorrow:

The finance minister would be left to get on with his job without threats from Zuma’s lackey in the Hawks.

The SABC would be revived under responsible management after the long overdue dismissal of Zuma’s other lackey, Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

The SAA board would be replaced and the chairwoman, Dudu Myeni, Zuma’s other lackey, would get her marching orders.

Zuma’s appointment to oversee the rehabilitation of state-owned enterprises would cease.

The rand’s value would prob- ably go through the roof.

The economy and investor confidence would get a boost.

The chances of a ratings downgrade would diminish.

Does anyone in the ANC want to challenge these claims?

Keeping Zuma is going to harm all the people of South Africa, barring the few ANC lackeys who continue to prop him up while clinging to his coattails. History will surely judge them accordingly. Hartbeespoort, North West
