Putin lashes out over Russian ban

A ban imposed on Russia’s Paralympic team to compete in Rio is cynical and immoral, President Vladimir Putin said yesterday, while saying that Moscow acknowledged its mistakes and would improve the national anti-doping system. Addressing Russia’s athletes who had competed at the Rio Olympic Games, Putin also said that international anti-doping organisations were subject to political pressure.
