VYING FOR MRS SA TITLE
TONIGHT the new Mrs South Africa will be crowned.
For the past six months, 25 women have been vying for the title, undertaking tasks to prove that they should be the next representative for married women in the country.
In July, they took part in a lifestyle challenge that saw them abseiling in Cape Town.
They also had to take part in workshops for empowerment and support the official Mrs SA charity, Cansa, by raising awareness in their communities.
The reigning Mrs SA, Candice Abrahams, who also holds the current Mrs World title, will crown her successor.
“Tonight a very special lady will walk into her destiny. Mrs South Africa changed my life… I’ve been blessed to change my life and break free from fears that were holding me back, to encourage women… to live out their dreams,” Abrahams said.
The new Mrs SA will travel to South Korea for the Mrs World contest on Wednesday.
Judges for this year’s Mrs SA pageant include former Miss South Africas Cindy Nell Roberts and Joan Madibeng, and TV and radio personality Zuraida Jardine and Vusi Zwane.
The Mrs SA grand finale will be hosted at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park.
