SOUTH Africa imported 21 855 tons of yellow maize from Ukraine in the week to January 20, the SA Grain Information Service said on its website yesterday.
No white variety was imported in the week.
The country exported 6 798 tons of the yellow variety to neighbouring countries, and 9 083 tons of white maize.
It imported 43 240 tons of wheat, 25 626 tons of which was from Poland and 17 614 tons from Argentina. Wheat exports to neighbouring countries totalled 2 740 tons. – Bloomberg
