Slain woman’s body found

PO­LICE yes­ter­day con­firmed the body of miss­ing Ni­cola Pien­aar had been found in Paarl in the back­yard of a 32-yearold man on Sun­day night. “The in­ves­ti­ga­tion team were led to the premises by the sus­pect, who pointed out a se­cluded area in the yard, where the body was found buried un­der rub­ble,” po­lice spokesper­son Cap­tain FC van Wyk said. “The cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the mat­ter are still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.” Po­lice ar­rested Ja­cobus Oosthuizen, 32, in Port El­iz­a­beth about a week ago af­ter he was found driv­ing Pien­aar’s mother’s car. He ap­peared in the Port El­iz­a­beth Mag­is­trate’s Court on Fri­day, and his case was trans­ferred to the Paarl Mag­is­trate’s Court. “The 32-year-old sus­pect will ap­pear in the Paarl Mag­is­trate’s Court on Thurs­day on charges of theft car theft, fraud and mur­der,” Van Wyk said. – ANA
