SA energy trade mission in Lusaka
TRADE Invest Africa (TIA), an initiative of the Department of Trade and Industry(dti), and the South African ElectroTechnical Export Council are leading a joint specialised energy trade mission to Lusaka, Zambia. The trade mission, taking place yesterday and today, aims to facilitate market access and unlock investment opportunities existing in the Zambian energy sector, the dti said. According to TIA acting chief executive, Lerato Mataboge, the trade mission was in response to the deficit in generation capacity, transmission line roll-out, and universal access to electricity in Zambia. “The mission is expected to provide TIA with an opportunity to identify and take advantage of trade and investment leads in the Zambian energy sector.” – ANA
