Fuel price hike
THE price of all grades of petrol will increase 49c a litre on Wednesday, the Department of Energy confirmed.
This was due to the international product prices of petrol increasing over the recent period as well as the rand depreciating against the dollar.
Diesel users could expect to be hit by an increase of 30c to 32c per litre, illuminating paraffin users 34c to 46c more a litre, and liquefied petroleum gas would increase 96c per kilogram.
The fuel increases would add to inflationary pressures and could hit the consumer’s pockets hard.
